چکیده

The paper presents a probabilistic fault arc reignition model for MV distribution networks. The model has been developed and implemented in the EMTP program, in order to evaluate the possible benefits of enlarging the time delay before the first fast reclosure, in terms of reducing the probability of fault reignition and, thus, avoiding longer interruptions. The application of the model in simulating realistic MV networks shows how an enlarged reclosing time may have a significant impact in increasing the number of selfextinguish faults, especially in transient double-phase faults inside metal enclosed electrical installations.

مکان یابی خطا در شبکه های توزیع فشار متوسط دو مداره به روش امپدانسی

Power distribution feeders contains many laterals, sub-laterals, different number of circuit line, load taps, balanced and unbalanced load, different type of lines (cable or overhead), different cross-sections and numerous distribution transformers with different capacities. Moreover, the voltage and current are measured only at the beginning of the feeder. Thus, fault location is very complex....

DWT-based extraction of residual currents throughout unearthed MV networks for detecting high-impedance faults due to leaning trees

SUMMARY Modelling of a high-impedance arcing fault due to a leaning tree in medium voltage (MV) networks was experimentally verified and the network transients due to this fault were also investigated. Even though the tree had a very high resistance value, the initial transients were periodically caused by the arc reignitions after each zero-crossing. In this paper, these features are extracted...

Cross Entropy-Based High-Impedance Fault Detection Algorithm for Distribution Networks

The low fault current of high-impedance faults (HIFs) is one of the main challenges for the protection of distribution networks. The inability of conventional overcurrent relays in detecting these faults results in electric arc continuity that it causes the fire hazard and electric shock and poses a serious threat to human life and network equipment. This paper presents an HIF detection algori...

LPKP: location-based probabilistic key pre-distribution scheme for large-scale wireless sensor networks using graph coloring

Communication security of wireless sensor networks is achieved using cryptographic keys assigned to the nodes. Due to resource constraints in such networks, random key pre-distribution schemes are of high interest. Although in most of these schemes no location information is considered, there are scenarios that location information can be obtained by nodes after their deployment. In this paper,...

Probabilistic Contaminant Source Identification in Water Distribution Infrastructure Systems

Large water distribution systems can be highly vulnerable to penetration of contaminant factors caused by different means including deliberate contamination injections. As contaminants quickly spread into a water distribution network, rapid characterization of the pollution source has a high measure of importance for early warning assessment and disaster management. In this paper, a methodology...
